Daily Tasks / Shared Living (SIL)

Around-the-clock or rostered support to help you live independently in shared accommodation — safe, confident, and at home.

What is Daily Tasks / Shared Living?

Daily Tasks / Shared Living, also known as Supported Independent Living (SIL), is an NDIS Residential/Living support that provides participants with the assistance they need to live independently or in shared accommodation settings.

At Disability Dream Care, our SIL support model centres on building participant skills and independence over time, while ensuring safety and quality of life in the home. Our support workers assist residents with all the tasks of daily living — from personal care in the morning, to cooking and cleaning, to winding down at night — while creating a household environment that feels genuinely like home, not an institution.

We work closely with the NDIS, Support Coordinators, and participants' families to develop individual support plans that reflect each person's goals, preferences, cultural background, and communication style. We then staff the household with workers who are carefully matched to the residents, trained in the specific supports required, and committed to building positive, consistent relationships in the home.

What's Included

  • Assisting with medication and health management

Who Is This For?

SIL is suitable for NDIS participants who require significant levels of daily support. Participants accessing SIL typically have high support needs resulting from intellectual disability, physical disability, acquired brain injury, or psychosocial disability. The NDIS requires a comprehensive needs assessment and individual quote process to access SIL funding.
