What is Accommodation / Tenancy Assistance?
Accommodation / Tenancy Assistance is a Capacity Building support under the NDIS that helps participants with disability secure appropriate housing, understand their rights and responsibilities as tenants, and sustain their tenancy long term. Having stable, suitable housing is foundational to everything else in life — it impacts health, safety, wellbeing, and the ability to pursue goals — which is why this support is so important.
At Disability Dream Care, our accommodation and tenancy support workers have a thorough understanding of South Australia's residential tenancy legislation, NDIS housing pathways, and the practical realities of navigating the rental market with a disability. We advocate alongside participants, connect them with property managers, housing providers, and support services, and help them build the skills and confidence they need to sustain their own tenancy.
We also recognise that many participants need ongoing support with the day-to-day aspects of being a tenant — from understanding notices and maintaining the property, to dealing with disputes and liaising with real estate agents or housing organisations. Our team provides consistent, expert assistance throughout the tenancy journey.
