Assist Personal Activities – High Intensity

Specialist-trained support workers delivering safe, skilled care for participants with complex clinical and personal care needs.

What is High Intensity Daily Personal Activities?

High Intensity Daily Personal Activities (also referred to as Assist Personal Activities – High) is an NDIS support for participants with complex health, clinical, and disability-related care needs that cannot be safely met by a standard support worker. This registration group requires providers — and the workers they deploy — to hold specific, verified clinical competencies aligned to each of the tasks they perform.

At Disability Dream Care, every support worker providing high intensity personal care holds the relevant Skilled Well or equivalent competency credentials verified by a registered nurse. We also maintain a robust clinical governance framework — including nursing supervision, risk assessments, and individualised care plans — to ensure that every high intensity support, regardless of how routine it may become, is delivered safely, consistently, and with full documentation.

We understand that participants requiring high intensity support have often navigated complex health systems, experienced inconsistent care, and may carry significant anxiety about support workers handling their most intimate clinical needs. Our approach prioritises worker consistency, thorough knowledge of each participant's individual protocols, and strong family/carer communication so that participants feel genuinely safe and in control at every interaction.

What's Included

  • Complex bowel care including bowel programmes, digital stimulation, and manual evacuation
  • Enteral feeding management — PEG and nasogastric tube care and administration
  • Tracheostomy care — routine suction and stoma management
  • Ventilator management — monitoring and management under a respiratory care plan
  • Urinary catheter management — indwelling, suprapubic, and external catheter support
  • Subcutaneous injections (insulin, enoxaparin) under delegation from a registered nurse
  • Complex seizure management per individual seizure management plans

Who Is This For?

High Intensity Daily Personal Activities is for NDIS participants who require complex clinical care tasks as part of their regular daily living support. This includes participants with high-level spinal cord injuries, conditions requiring enteral feeding, people with tracheostomies or who are ventilator-dependent, participants with severe bowel dysfunction, and those managing complex seizure disorders or other neurological conditions with associated clinical care needs. Families and existing care teams are always consulted for any participant transitioning to this level of support.
